Marie Mason is a printmaker now based in Ballarat, Victoria, whose works are mainly inspired by the Australian landscape. Marie says:

'I am trying to separate and simplify the patterns of nature and print them accurately together to show the beauty and diversity of creation. The presence of sunlight and shade in the landscape, twilight shadows and water, are all fascinating challenges. I love making beautiful, interesting pictures and am addicted to printmaking.’

‘I have been mainly influenced by the strong pattern and line work of Claude Flight, Eric Thake, Thea Proctor, Margaret Preston, Murray Griffin, Hans Heyson, El Greco, van Gogh and Picasso and the Fauves, also Martin Rek and David Frazer and other top Australian Printmakers.’
